ABOUT

Singer/Songwriter/Producer Casey Parnell has been active in the Northwest Music scene for over a decade and is currently guitarist in the award winning band Precious Byrd that plays over 80 shows a year.

I've written, produced, and recorded for other artists including Kris Allen (American Idol Winner) and Shannon Bex of MTV’s super group Danity Kane from the TV show Making the Band.

Art and philanthropy go hand in hand for him as he believes we can make the world a better place with whatever we’ve been given ourselves. Casey has led and volunteered in multiple efforts to serve needs locally and across the world, including aid for the Tornado that ripped through Nashville, TN in 2020.

His music reminds the listener of his wide range of influences - from acoustic pop to blues, folk, rock, and gospel. Influenced by legends the Beatles, Elvis Presley, and the Beach Boys he builds upon strong melodies, but with a modern take sounds similar to that of Ed Sheeran, Gavin Degraw and Jason Mraz.

MORE FROM ME

The wandering heart, the wilderness walker, the lonely soul... this is me, and this is who I write for.

Music can reach into spaces many other forms cannot. It fills work trucks, teenage bedrooms, and crowded bars. It finds it's way onto desolate highways and onto stages of packed arenas. But, the songwriting is where it all begins, and where I find my passion.

Drawing from my own pain of my parents divorce, my loneliness in extended singleness looking for love, my fear & courage facing current events of the world, or my daily triumphs, the disciple of songwriting is where it all begins.

Write one song, every day. This is the craft, this is the goal. Not every song will be award winning or be played on the radio. Some songs will never make it outside the writing room to be heard by someone else. But the song craft is the real work, and it take grit.

I am a songwriter at heart, a performing artist, and a producer. I am rooted in the Cascade mountains of Oregon but based in Nashville,TN. I've been active in the music industry for decades in bands and working with events and non-profits of all types. I've written over 500 songs, and have 250 songs recorded on various projects. I've had songs featured in national advertising campaigns for Toms Shoes and the Justice Conference. I've won a national songwriting contest for the Catalyst Conference for a gospel song titled "Beauty of the Cross" beating thousands of other applicants.

I'm currently hard at work on my second album, a "Wilderness Project" called Badlands. This involves multiple singles and two EP's leading to an album. One of my favorite songs off the project is called "Kerosine Creek" and explores life tensions compared to a real hot spring river in New Zealand.

Good & Evil, Light and Dark, somewhere inside of these themes every person figures out where they stand.

I'm influenced by music my grandparents showed me, legends like the Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash. I build upon strong melodies, emotive lyrics, and a backwoods beat.

I enjoy seeing live music, surfing the Oregon coast, and good coffee.
